1995 MG RV8
Asking Price: £23,950
The MG RV8 is a heavily revised MGB powered by a 3.9 litre all aluminium Rover V8 engine outputting 190bhp, delivered to the rear wheels via a 5 speed Rover gearbox and limited slip differential, with a 0-60 mph time of 5.9 seconds.
External body panels were revised to provide the car with a distinctive departure to the MGB although the original MGB proportions can still be clearly seen.
The new body panels accommodated the axles wider track, and wider wheels and tyres. In addition, the front lamps are distinctive with Porsche 911 headlamps and at the rear there are specially commissioned rear lamps.
The interior of the car provided generous quantities of traditional Burr Elm wood and Connolly leather, the latter specifically in a light colour that created a bright cabin experience.
The British Motor Heritage manufactured bodyshell was painted at Rover's Cowley plant before being transported to Longbridge for final assembly where the cars were practically hand-built on a separate line.
The car was first shown at the 1993 Tokyo Motor Show and this created a huge demand in Japan for the cars, as a result around 1600 of the 1983 total number produced were exported there.
This MG RV8 like most others began its life in Japan where it had minimal use before being re-patriated to the UK.
Finished in Woodcote green with beige leather upholstery and black hood.
Like all Japanese specification cars, it has the added benefit of air conditioning and remains in very good and original condition throughout.
To be sold freshly serviced and with a full twelve month MOT.
