1964 Aston Martin DB5 Coupe

Asking Price: £749,950

The DB5 was essentially the next generation of the very successful DB4 but with so many improvements it was launched as a new model. The same 6 cylinder Tadek Marek engine was increased to 4.0 litres with a resultant power improvement of 40hp to 280hp in standard form or 310 hp as Vantage. A new 5 speed gearbox and much improved braking enhanced the cars driveability and along with many other refinements made this a superb sports car at the time.

Introduced in the summer of 1963, only 886 saloon cars and a mere 123 convertibles were built until October 1965, when production was given over to the DB6.

Delivered new to a Mr Finney of Cheltenham on 01.09.1964 this stunning DB5 coupe has been in the care of just two further keepers since.

Whilst under the care of it’s most recent keeper the car was subject to an extensive restoration. Resulting in a truly stunning example.

The restorative work was carried out by Desmond Smail, and is fully documented within the cars healthy history file.

Finished in Dubonnet Rosso with black hide, chassis number 1692-R is an original UK home market, matching numbers example.

It goes without saying, that given the level of restorative work carried out in recent years that this car is exceptional in all aspects.

Any inspection welcome, viewing is highly recommended.
