Production of the Z06 variant of the Corvette C6 began back in 2005. It’s 7.0 litre V8 was, and is to this day the largest and most powerful naturally aspirated engine to be used in a vehicle manufactured by General Motors. 

Producing 505 brake horse power, the original Z06 was capable of reaching 198mph. However in 2008 this top speed was increased to 208mph. The 0-60 time remains the same for all versions at 3.6 seconds. 

These sorts of performance figures are naturally highly impressive, however the biggest leap forward over previous American sports cars is the Z06’s astonishing dynamic ability and the level of refinement offered. 

This car, in my opinion is the first American car which can be considered as a genuine and very worthy competitor to the very best that Europe can offer. 

 

Here are just a few of the technical upgrades carried out to the Z06 over the standard car. 

• A hand built 7.0 Litre V8

• Aluminium chassis

• Carbon fibre panels and bonnet lining

• Fixed roof

• Larger front and rear brakes

• Enhanced body styling 

• Stiffer suspension set up

• Larger and strengthened anti roll bars

• Air intakes to cool the braking system

The example offered for sale here is one of the very final cars to be produced before the introduction of the C7 and was originally registered in the UK. 

In terms of it’s engine it is the last of a breed, it’s 7.0 litre naturally aspirated V8 has now been replaced by a smaller supercharged unit for the later cars. 

Finished in white with black leather upholstery and grey alloy wheels. it is believed to be the only Z06 currently registered in the UK finished in this colour combination. 

 

Having covered just 4,560 miles from new, this example is naturally is stunning order throughout as one would expect.
