The 8 Series was BMW’s flagship model produced between 1989 and 1999. Featuring classic GT lines and the choice of either V8 or V12 engines. It was naturally seen as a successor to the 6 Series Coupe but in reality it was a completely different car, aimed at taking the company up to a higher plane in terms of build quality, package and performance. 

 

The example offered for sale here was purchased new by the late Sir Terry Wogan as a gift to his wife. 

Finished in Oxford green with full grey leather upholstery this car is a stunning order throughout and is a testament to it’s previous keepers. 

 

This car performs exactly as one would expect, with strong performance courtesy of it’s 4.0 V8. Having only covered 75,000 miles from new the general ‘feel’ of this car is very positive. The steering remains precise, the suspension is supple yet firm enough to ensure sure footed handling and the brakes/tyres are in fine fettle.

 

Electrically everything is working as it should do. Importantly, all digital readouts are fully functional with no missing pixels.
