1959 Jaguar XK150S Fixed Head Coupe
This unique and exceptional motorcar left the Jaguar factory in 1959 as a 3.4S, sporting bucket seats and rear axle torque reaction arms. The owner, Anthony Davenport was a keen motor racer and used the car in many national events.
Due to his passion for racing, Davenport employed the competitions department at Browns Lane to maintain and further develop the car.
The engine became one of the only units to be re-worked to 3.8S specification by the company.
Davenport later purchased one of the first production E-Type Jaguars, onto which he transferred the registration number ‘AD 250’.
Also ‘swapped’ from the XK150 to the E-type was the reworked 3.8 litre engine.
Meaning that now this XK150 can boast having a 3.8 litre E-Type engine fitted by the works team in period. Now producing in the region of 320 BHP.
Ted Rollason purchased the car from Campbell McLaren, in whose hands it competed in the Goodwood Revival TT race, it was also the fastest XK by a considerable margin to take part in the recent Jabbeke 50th anniversary celebrations.
Sporting uprated brakes and Servo, perspex windows, limited slip differential, full yet subtle roll cage and a power steering system.
This extremely competent and incredibly interesting Jaguar is an ideal companion for long distance rally events, continental touring, fast road use or is even ready to race if the new owner so desires.
Finished in Aston Martin racing green with light green leather upholstery and carpet, this car has wanted for absolutely nothing during it’s lifetime and is ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.
