Used for numerous purposes by the Swiss Military during the 1950’s, the Mowag can be likened to a Land Rover 101 in terms of it’s purpose and scale. 

 

The Mowag, being entirely Swiss made is staggeringly well put together and is contructed from high quality materials. 

This particular example has not seen  great deal of use during it’s sixty one year life, and is currently showing just 3,004 miles. 

The condition is lovely, it has stood the test of time incredibly well, has had only minor and sympathetic restorative work over the years and has clearly been well cared for by each owner. 

 

The Mowag employs a four cylinder flat head petrol engine, providing ample power and a smooth delivery. This is mated to a four speed manual gearbox with high and low ratios as well as a switchable four wheel drive system. 

Despite the nature and it’s obvious bulk, it is a very easy and well mannered vehicle to drive. It will happily cruise at 45/50 miles per hour making a decent journey on UK roads entirely possible and safe. 

 

In it’s current state it is perfectly suited for shoot transportation. The space in the rear is accessed by detachable wooden steps and consists of two bench seats with storage beneath them. Fifteen or so people can be seated in comfort, more than 15 is possible if they are willing to form a closer bond with one an other.
